  2. Twerking is pretty much just humping the air. And if you look at some of the girls, they can't even keep the movement in their hips. It moves down to their legs, and they have to re start. I don't think their prom and graduation rights should have been taken away, but filming on school property, especially stuff like this, IS against the rules.

  12. just a little comment on "you Americans care too fucking much" being AMERICAN I find that a bit offensive. now I'm not saying there are SOME americans that care too much but not all of them do. i obviously don't see why this would end up on the news when it's really not that big of a deal although I do think they shouldn't have used the school's property to film the video. but don't bash Americans based on their actions. we're trying our best, okay?

  16. The school has no right to stop them from twerking. Yeah, they shouldnt have but still. They shouldnt be able to keep them from graduating because of this.

  20. Whats that song though

  21. On school property, with school equipment, the school is in the right for suspending them. If it was with their own equipment off of school grounds, I'd say it was too far. And with Miley Cyrus' video, she was actually dancing, these girls were doing nothing more than shaking their asses upside down.

  26. Bring back win7 formatting. I hate win8 and I will never use it. I can tell you this much, any computer I will own will have win7 installed, unless you bring back the classic win experience in a new os. If people want a "simpler" os, they can just fucking use iOS... SEPARATE YOURSELF MICROSOFT!

I use a lot of desktop too! I'm an student and I need to work with lots of windows opened at the same time (Word, Firefox, Inkscape or MS Maths) and these desktops apps work as great as in W7! You dont need to do everything on Metro, i use it mostly for music (i love this app) and things like games, social media, etc. What if you have to do something difficult, you can always use the desktop :)

  28. Good for tablets, not do good for the majority of people who use actual computers. Goddamn it.

    *buzz* Wrong.
OSX has parts of FreeBSD and NetBSD in it. The only thing OSX and Linux might have in common is the TCP/IP stack.
If you are looking the distributions, then OSX, BSD and Linux distributions usually use the GNU toolset.
Linux and BSD I believe also share some of the same X GUI.
OSX has almost as much in Common with Linux as Windows does with Linux. Windows you can install GNU tools and posix capabilities as well.

  33. Hahah, you do realize that MacOS is actually a slightly modified version of Linux, right? Also, new interfaces like Unity and gnome are very usable and functional, even beautiful. I agree that everybody has their taste and opinion, and that's ok, but no need to insult things that you don't use for no reason...

  34. I'm sorry but its in your phone, router, TV and numerous other devices around your home. Linux is as ready as it ever will be, I have Windows for games and development but I use Linux for everything else. No offense, but the people who diss Linux are normally people who don't understand an OS and need advanced things hidden from them. I can do things in Linux that I cannot do with Windows, like my Beowulf cluster and crunching complex calculations.

  35. I use Start8 from Stardock as I already had a subscription to them, its great. I would have still preferred the option to have one included. Luckily through my work I have access to an MSDN subscription so I was able to get Win8 for nothing, most people don't have this luxury and either have to live with the OS on their system or buy it a new. Neither of which would have set well with me with no start button option, 2012 server still has metro, who has a touchscreen server?

  36. Bing is not a software. And no I never said I did you fucking moron...

  37. Windows Vista and Google Desktop have done similar things before. Hardly copying Canonical.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I remember a Maximum PC editorial from 2000 saying Linux would take over the desktop within two or three years. Still waiting...

    ReplyDelete
  39. A lot of people give a fuck about linux, saying nobody cares is arrogant and naive. It's more of a hobby OS than one for doing work on, it's about the experience of getting to learn new things and how it all works. As for it not being ready for desktop, it has been for years, people aren't ready yet, most people either stick with Windows because Wine is unstable and they need to use windows exclusive software like games etc. or because they don't know much about computing, or just don't care.

  40. One last thing. I am so taken by Windows 8 that I am looking t replace my Windows7 laptop that died with a convertible Windows 8 desktop. I love the touch interface and now, when using non-touch PCs I find myself tapping the screen anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I use my Surface Pro exclusively. I do Word and Excel along with basic Powerpoint. And of course, I surf the web non-stop and watch movies and I email.

As such, I really like, sometimes love windows 8. I use the Modern UI IE8 over 90% of the time now. I don't understand the complaints from most users. IT department types I understand because they have to deal with their clients' complaints. But normal users I don't get.

    ReplyDelete
  42. However, no one gives a fuck about Linux. Linux will never be ready for desktop.

    ReplyDelete
  43. An update that will address absolutely none of the concerns of the desktop user base? Sign me the fuck up!

  44. The only way for MS to get people interested in there tablets is if they can beat apples ipads and the only way to beat apple is if they can create something better and the only way for them to do that is by experimenting. The idea they have of one OS for pc and tablets are cool but hard. I mean they have to convince two Groups to use the same OS which cant be easy. BTW i to hope that they will allow ppl to resize Program Tiles and group them. It would make metro more useful ( at least for me )

    ReplyDelete
  45. You do know that they are many rumours saying that Win 8.1 will allow people to boot in to the desktop area right ?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I hope they fix this bug : if the battery dies on my laptop i have to startup and then reboot to log in to my normal account . I had expected more from this update, I don't see why they focus on those useless tiles, don't know if this is normal everywhere but everybody I know who has win 8 have laptops, are there really that many using tablets ?
